STANLEY THOMPSON (source unknown) Dies of His Injuries Stanley Thompson Hurt in Football Game While Playing with Elgin Town Team at Woodstock Last November. Stanley THOMPSON, son of Justice and Mrs. George THOMPSON, died at 7:30 o'clock this morning from injuries received in a football game at Woodstock last November. THOMPSON played center on the Elgin Town team. In the game with Woodstock prior to Thanksgiving day he ruptured a blood vessel. The accident caused Thompson some inconvenience, but he did not realize that it would be the cause of his death. January 7th he went to bed and remained there until the end. During the first five weeks of his illness he had eighteen hemorrhages. Deceased was born at Middleborough, O., twenty four years ago and had lived in Elgin about twelve years. He was employed in the motion room of the watch factory for a short time. One winter he attended night school at the Elgin academy. He is survived by his parents, one brother, Harry C., and four sisters, Mrs. Charles KRIEGER and Misses, Kate, anna and Alice THOMPSON. The unmarried sisters live at the family home, 257 Grove Avenue. Note from submitter: Stanley Thompson was b. 3 May 1879 in Middleborough, Warren Co., OH and died 7 May 1903 in Elgin, Kane Co., IL.
