FRANK STUBBS VETERAN "Q" EMPLOYE, DIES Frank J. STUBBS Sr., one of Aurora best known men died at his home, 338 Liberty street, last night at 8 o'clock of paralysis. He was stricken last Friday morning. He suffered a similar stroke four years ago which deprived him of the use of his entire right side and resulted in his retirement from the Burlington railroad shops, where he had served in the capacity of machinist and foreman for 47 years. Notwithstanding his physical handicap as a result of the first stroke, Mr. STUBBS continued to care for his garden and flowers. He was famous in the city for the tulips and wild flowers which grew in his garden. The deceased was 65 years of age. He was born in 1858 in the old STUBBS homestead in North Broadway, which was located on the site of the present C. B. & Q. paint shop. He was married May 23, 1881, to Capitola B. HALL, who preceded him in death 27 years. He is survived by three sons, Richard of Glendale, Cal., Frank and Ralph of Aurora, one daughter, Mrs. A.B. BUTLER of Aurora and, two brothers, James J. and Dr. Edwin E. STUBBS both of Aurora and one sister, Mrs. John GREENAWAY of Aurora. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the home and at 2:30 o'clock from Trinity Episcopal church. Services at the home will be private. Burial will be in Spring Lake cemetery.
