Dr. E. U. STUBBS, Pioneer Local Physician, Dies Dr. Edwin W. STUBBS, a retired physician, died of pneumonia at Copley hospital last night. He was born in Aurora Dec. 2, 1863, the youngest child of Joseph STUBBS, who was among the first Aurora employes of the Burlington railroad. After receiving his early education in the Aurora public schools he attended St. Louis university. After he completed his course he returned to Aurora where he practiced medicine for 28 years. During this time he served residents of the community as county physician and served as an examining physician for the draft board in World War I. He retired in 1926 after an automobile accident which crippled one arm seriously enough to handicap him. His widow, Harriet Ann STUBBS, who resides on the New York street road; two sons, Dr. J. W. STUBBS and E. W. STUBBS Jr., of Aurora; three daughters, Helen L. SULLIVAN and Marion A. MARKEL of Chicago, and Alice C. FOGLE of Long Beach, Calif., survive. There are 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren surviving also. He was a member of Aurora lodge 254, A. F. and A. M. Services will be in charge of Aurora lodge 254, A. F. and A. M.
