William R. REES is Dead, Following Stroke of Apoplexy William R. REES, 71, for years a prominent figure in the public affairs here, died at 9:50 o'clock last night at his home, 239 Weston avenue. Apoplexy struck him down last Sunday. Mr. REES was born in Naperville and came to Aurora with his parents when he was six years old. He entered the employ of the Burlington railroad in 1874 and remained with the company until 1888. Later he was elected alderman of the old Third ward and then was appointed superintend of the city water department. After leaving the city service he became assistant postmaster, a position he held for some years. He resigned from the postal service two years ago. Surviving Mr. REES are a widow Mrs. Jennie, and two brothers, Fred and L. E. REES. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
