Frank H. REES, Veteran in "Q" Service Dies Frank H. REES, one of the oldest and best known conductors on the Burlington railroad, died at his late home, 231 South Fourth street, early Thursday morning, of pneumonia, following an illness of eight months. As a conductor on thru passenger trains between Chicago and Burlington, Ia., of 30 years he was known by thousands of the traveling public. The deceased, a robust man who all his life was a love of outdoor life, was taken ill about eight months ago and for a time it appeared that he had made a successful fight against his aliment. He suffered a relapses however, and in his weakened condition pneumonia developed, which resulted in his death. Mr. REES was born at Naperville. Feb. 14, 1858, and had resided in Aurora 60 years. He was employed by the Burlington for 48 years, 30 years of that time as passenger conductor on the main line from Chicago to Burlington. For the last six years he was in the suburban service between Chicago and Aurora. He was at all times pleasant and accommodating and owned hundreds of friends. The deceased is survived by his wife, one son, Russell, Detroit, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. W. A. MCDONALD, of Troy, N. Y.; three brothers, William, Lewis and Fred REES, and one sister, Mrs. John BLAIR. He was a member of the Order of Railway conductors serving the seven years as chief conductor of the local division Aurora lodge No. 254, A. F. & A. M. And Aurora chapter. The funeral will be held from the late home, 231 South Fourth street tomorrow afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Spring Lake cemetery. This was taken from the Beacon News.
