GEORGE H. REES George H. REES, 91, of Aurora, died Thursday at Mercy Center Hospital. He was born July 9, 1890 in Aurora. Mr. REES was retired, Police Chief of Aurora in 1949. He was a charter member of the Third Ward Social Club, Policemen's Benevolent Association of Illinois, Aurora Policemen's Benevolent Association and worked with the Kane County Sheriff's office for 12 years. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth M. (VOSS) REES; two sons, Robert K. REES of Aurora and Herbert A. REES of Salina, Kansas: one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jean) J. TEWS of Clarksdale, Miss.; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Episcopal Church. The Rev. William R. Burden and the Rev. Clifford Briar will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the Daleiden Lake Street Mortuary. Mr. REES' remains will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until funeral hour. Memorials may be given to Trinity Episcopal Church.
