WALTER OLHABER Taken from the January 31, 1958 Elgin Daily Courier News Walter F. OLHABER, 68 of 21 Wilcox Ave died Thursday evening. A life-long Elgin resident, he was born here July 4, 1889, the son of John and Caroline SCHULTZ OLHABER. He was a stone mason by trade and for many years had been an employee of Charles E. Giertz & Son and of later years by the Illinois Hydraulic Construction Co. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical & Reformed Church. Served with the Blackhawk Division in WW I. Surviving are his widow, Hattie LIND OLHABER; a brother Leon OLHABER, of Huntley and two sisters, Mrs. Anna SPONHOLTZ and Mrs. Mabel STEINIGER both of Elgin. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
