MARY MADSEN Taken from the February 25, 1976 Elgin Daily Courier News Mrs. Jens (Mary) MADSEN, 74, of Flaggstaff, Ariz. formerly of Elgin died Saturday in Dallas, Tex. Born Dec 18, 1901 in Arlesheim, Switzerland, she was the daughter of John and Rosetta ZUCHER BAUMGARNTER and had been active in the Elgin VFW Post 1307 Auxiliary and the Leo Anderson Barracks 800 Auxiliary before moving to Arizona nine years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. L.R. (Dorothy) ROYAL of Dallas Tex., and Mrs. Richard (Gloria) JELINEK of Flaggstaff, Ariz.: one brother, Werner BAUMGARTNER of Elgin; and six sisters, Mrs Ernest (Rose) BURREN of Wickenburg, Ariz., Mrs. Peter (Martha) Paulos of Elgin and Mrs. Charles (Anna) HAUMILLER of Elgin, also, Mrs. James (Lena) VEGE of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Robert (Frieda) LEONARD of Winslow Ariz., and Mrs. Carl (Hattie) DUEWEL of Wickenburg, Ariz.. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jan 25, 1975; four brothers and three sisters.
