J. W. MATHEWSON J. W. MATHEWSON PASSES AWAY IN FLORIDA HOME Services for James W. MATHEWSON, former Elburn resident who passed away on March 29 at his home in Miami Beach, Florida, were held in Lacon, Illinois on Tuesday afternoon of this week. Interment was in the Lacon Cemetery. From Early Elburn Family James Warne MATHEWSON was the son of A. T. MATHEWSON and DeEtte MATHEWSON and was a grandson of John WARNE, one of the pioneer settlers in the Elburn community. He was born in Elburn on June 27, 1886. Graduating from Elburn high school in 1904, he entered the University of Illinois where he was graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering in 1908. For many years he was employed by the Western Electric company and lived in Oak Park, Peoria and Lacon. Lacon was the home of his wife, the former Merrill BUCK. Moved to Florida Four years ago, the MATHEWSONs moved to Florida because of his health. He was first taken ill about eight years ago. Mr. MATHEWSON was preceded in death by a son, Robert, a lieutenant in the Army, who was killed in action in Holland. Survived by Wife He is survived by his wife, Merrill BUCK MATHEWSON; one son Charles, of Joliet; a brother, Harrison of Miami Beach; and a sister, Mrs. G. R. MEREDITH of Elburn; a granddaughter, Barbara, who made her home with the MATHEWSONs in Miami; and several nieces and nephews in this community. Mrs. G. R.
