MRS. ESSIE HOLMES Mrs. Essie L. HOLMES, 57, 130 Downer Pl., collapsed and died at 10 a.m. Friday at the above address. Her body was taken to the Healy funeral home. She was the widow of C. E. HOLMES, now deceased, an owner of A and H Radio and TV. She was sticken in her apartment above the shop. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. She was born Dec. 5, 1903, in De Kalb. She was a member of Tirzah Rebekah Lodge No. 483, and of the Alamo Chapter No. 693, Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving her are two sons, Robert J. HOLMES Sr., of Oswego and Warren G. HOLMES of Aurora; one daughter, Mrs. Homer Dodge CAINE, Stockton, Calif.; three grandsons, six granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Grover BEARD, Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Charles and Donald GLOSSOP of Aurora, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert GLOSSOP of Aurora. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin E. HOLMES, on Oct. 11, 1959. Funeral services will be held at the Healy Chapel Monday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Frank S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Heart Fund.
