Robert J. HOLMES, Sr. Robert J. HOLMES, Sr., 65, of Oswego, Illinois, died Thursday, August 25, 1988 at Copley Memorial Hospital, Aurora. He was born June 15, 1923 in Aurora. Mr. HOLMES was employed at Dukane Corporation as an Electrician until his retirement in 1986 after 10 years of service. He was a member of the Aurora Odd Fellows Lodge #870 and a Veteran of the United Sates Army serving in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Frances L. (BUTLER) HOLMES of Oswego; two sons, Robert J. HOLMES, Jr., Glen Ellyn, Illinois and John R. HOLMES of Oswego; three daughters, Mrs. Linda MCMICKEN of Oswego, Mrs. Michael (Diane) SHAW of San Antonio, Texas and Mrs. Raymond (Patricia) CARLSON of Aurora; one brother Warren (Kathleen) HOLMES of Aurora; one sister, Mrs. Homer (Alice) CAINE of Manhattan, Kansas and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Essie HOLMES; two brothers and one sister. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 29, 1988 at the Deiterle Memorial Home. The Rev. D. B. Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Dieterle Memorial Home.
