GUSTAVE GENZ Taken from the April 16, 1952 Daily Courier News Gustave F. GENZ, 75 of 708 Jay St., pensioner of the Elgin City Lines, died last evening in his home after a brief illness. Born March 26, 1877 in Pommern, Germany, he came tot his country with his parents at the age of five years, moving directly to Harmony. He also resided at Gilberts before coming to this city in 1909 where for 35 years he had been a motorman for the Chicago, Aurora 7 Elgin railway and later a bus driver for the Elgin City Lines. In 1944 he retired from active employment. He was active member of St John's Luth. church and the Amalgamated Street Electrical Workers Union Division 215. Besides his widow, Mrs. Mary SCHULTZ GENZ, he is survived by four sons, Elmer GENZ of South Elgin, Carl GENZ of Carpentersville and William and Leonard GENZ of Elgin; one daugher Mrs. G. B.(Marie) BENEWALD of this city; four step-children, Walter SCHULTZ of Elgin, William SCHULTZ of Pingree Grove, Mrs. Erma JONES and Miss Evelyn SCHULTZ both of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Emma BLOCK of Hampshire and Mrs. Mary McMAHON of Elgin. His first wife, Emma SCHULTZ GENZ died in 1926 and he was also preceded in death by a son, Gustave, and a stepson Paul SCHULTZ.
