AUGUST DIERKING

August F. "Gus" DIERKING, 85 retired machinst residing at 671 N Crystal St., died yesterday afternoon at 4:20pm in St. Joseph hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Bawinkel, Lingen, Germany on Oct 2 1867 and came to the United States at the age of six. Following several years in Schaumburg he moved to Elgin and had resided here continuously since. Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Byron (Anna) FAIRCHILD and Mrs. James (Grace) MORAN; two sons, John DIERKING and Donald DIERKING; one brother, Fred DIERKING, all of Elgin; He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Margaret DIERKING and a daughter Mrs. Jessie E. COMPTON.
