THOMAS BROPHY Taken from the The Aurora Beacon News, March 3, 1915, page 11 Thomas Brophy Thomas BROPHY, aged 80 years, died at his home at North Aurora yesterday afternoon at 4:20 o'clock, after suffering for 13 years with paralysis. His wife who will be 81 years old on March 17, survives him. The deceased formerly lived in Aurora for a number of years and was widely known here. He later moved to Minnesota, where he took up the business of farming. Thirteen years ago he was stricken with paralysis and two years later moved back to North Aurora with his family. Despite his crippled condition he made many acquaintances and was highly thought of. Besides his widow he is survived by seven children, Mrs. Maggie WALKER of Wisconsin, Mrs. Lizzie SCOTT of Geneva, Mrs. Jennie MILLS of Aurora, Mrs. FLYNN of North Aurora, George and West Brophy, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. C. A. Holbrook officiating. Interment will be in West Aurora Cemetery. Transcribed and submitted by: Pat Van Leeuwen on 6 Dec 2004.
