LOUISE MARGARET BERGMAN Taken from the Dayton (Ohio) Daily News on Thursday, May 9, 2002 Age 72, peacefully passed away at 2:37 AM on Tuesday, May 7,2002 at home. She was born June 19, 1929 in Geneva, Illinois, and resided in Dayton for most of her life. She graduated from Modonna High School, Aurora, IL in 1947 and attended Sinclair Community College. She was a dental assisstant, homemaker, and active volunteer in countless community and church efforts. She helped establish St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Parish of Valley Forge, PA in 1969. She was instrumental in the founding of Progress Place and co-founder of PLACES, Inc. both of Dayton in the 1970`s. Louise was a champion of persons with mental illness and she touched the lived of many in need through a variety of advocacy efforts. She was preceded in death by her father Roy Edward ANDERSON of Aurora, IL., and her daughter, Julie Clare BERGMAN of Dayton. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Louise (DePAUW) ANDERSON of Aurora, IL; her husband of 47 years, Everett Jerome BERGMAN of Dayton; her sons, daughters and spouses: Drs. Steven and Mary BERGMAN of Dallas, TX; Beth and Dr. H. Michael DUKE; Kristen BERGMAN and Keed; Lisa and Tom DINEEN (all of Dayton); and Brian and Dr. Lora REIF-BERGMAN of Seatlle, WA; her brother and his spouse Ronald and Linda ANDERSON of Aurora, IL; her sister and her spouse Jan and Tom HOWLAND of Aurora, IL; brother-in-law and his spouse Ronald and Mary Ann BERGMAN; siter-in-law Dorothy COUVION; granchildren: Nicholas and Johnathan WELLS, Dietrich and Seth DUKE, Allison and Caitlin BERGMAN, and Emily and Annie DUKE; and many neices and nephews, and cousins. Prayers will be said 9:45 AM Fri at Baker-Hazel Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM at Corpus Chriti Catholic Church.
