WERNER BAUMGARTNER Taken from the April 11, 1990 Elgin Daily Courier News Werner BAUMGARTNER, 92, of Fresno, Calif., formerly of Elgin died Friday April 6, in Fresno. He was born Sept.29, 1897 in Amilgen, Switzerland, the sone of John and Rosetta BAUMGARTNER. He had been a resident of Elgin most of his life and had been a machinist for Elgin National Watch Co., before retiring in 1963. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Fairbury, ILL. Surviving are his wife, Ethel RONNING BAUMGARTNER; a daughter, Virginia (Paul) HILL of Fresno; a son, Robert L. (Carol) of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Frieda LEONARD of Glendale, Ariz., Lena VEGE of Phoenix, Ariz., and Anna HAUMILLER of Elgin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Ernest, John, Fred, Albert and Gottfried; and seven sisters Martha PAULOS, Mary MADSEN, Hattie DUEWEL, Bertha YAGGI, Louise STAMBAZZE, Emma SCHUETZ and Rose BURREN.
