ROSE BULGER Taken from the Elgin Courrier-News Friday November 19, 1926 p. 1 Fate and tragedy joined hands yesterday, to part two aged sisters, companions for life. Miss Rose BULGER, aged 71 years of 425 Park street, died at the St. Joseph's hospital at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, three hours after she had collapsed with a paralytic stroke when informed that her sister, Miss Margaret BULDGER, had broken her right leg in a fall on the icy steps of their home. Miss Margaret BULGER, although suffering mental torture because of the tragic death of her sister, and physical pain from her injury, was reported as progressing as well as could be expected, at the St. Joseph's hospital today. The accident to Miss BULGER occurred at 11 o'clock yesterday morning. When entering her home on Park street, she slipped on the ice-coated steps and suffered a severe fracture of the right leg. Neighbors summoned the ambulance and she was rushed to the hospital, whe Dr. John R. Tobin was called in attendence. Miss Rose BULGER was upstairs at the time of the accident and did not witness her sister fall. Shortly after the accident, neighbors acquinted Miss BULGER of the fact and she was seen to turn pale. Later she was found in her room, unconscious from a sudden stroke of paralysis. She was rushed to the hospital at noon, just an hour after an ambulance had take her sister away. Miss Rose BULGER was born near St. Charles, February 28, 1855, and had lived in Elgin for the past forty years. For many years she was an employee of the screw department in the watch factory, but of late years had retired to the seclusion of her home. She was a devout memeber of St. Mary's church. The one sister, Miss Margaret BULGER, survives. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning from the Walt-Ross-Allanson funeral church, and at 9:30 o'clock from St. Mary's church. Short services will be held in the funeral church, Sunday evening. Interment will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
