Mrs. Jacob Baker Taken by Death Had Lived Here For Many Years Services Held Wednesday Mrs. Katherine BAUMANN BAKER, wife of Jacob BAKER, Passed away at her home near this village at 4:20 a.m. last Sunday, from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy, at the advanced age of 74 years, 1 month, and 5 days. Mrs. BAKER was born in Lendeidel, Wurtemberg, Germany, July 5, 1851, a daughter of Henry and Katherine SCHUMN BAUMANN. In the year 1869 she was united in marriage with Jacob BAKER. This union was blessed with five children, Clara JEWETT of Auburn Washington, Henry of Chicago, Albert, Edwin and Blaine of Genoa, all of whom survive their mother. Mrs. BAKER was affiliated with the Evangelical church for a period of nearly 50 years, during which time she was active in church work. She was also a member of the Helping Hand Society of the church. She is survived by her husband, five children, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the late home and from the Evangelical church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Eller, presiding elder of the Evangelical church. The remains were laid at rest in the Hampshire Center cemetery. This was transcribed from an unknown source.
