JOSIAH A FINK (Synopsis) ANGUISH COY FREDERICK HOWARD NORRIS WELLS Josiah A. FINK, now living retired in Kaneville, came to Kane Co. in 1851. He was born in Madison Co. NY, Nov. 16, 1814. His father was John I. FINK, born Montgomery Co. NY, as was his grandfather John FINK, and his grgrandfather William, of German parentage. The latter was in the French and Indian War of 1755. John FINK was a minute man in the Revolution, wounded in battle of Oristany, as was a brother. John FINK moved with his family to Madison Co.NY in 1806. His son John I. FINK married Nancy ANGUISH, native of Penn., and they became the parents of 4 sons and 3 daughters, of whom Josiah and 3 daughters survive. John FINK later moved to Onondago Co. NY and located on the Seneca River near Baldwinsville. Josiah FINK grew up in Madison Co. NY. He has married 3 times: Nancy NORRIS who died in Onondago Co. leaving 2 children: Marilda, wife of Azel HOWARD of DeKalb Co. Ill.; and Nancy wife of Captain WELLS of Shabbona, Ill. Mr FINK returned to Madison Co. NY and there married Mary Ann NORRIS, sister of his first wife. By that union there were 2 children, one of whom died in childhood. The other, Norris, lives in Iowa. In 1859, Mr FINK married Louisa COY, born Chenango Co. NY. By this union there are 2 living children: Frankie, wife of Wm. FREDERICK of Kaneville; and Julie M., a teacher. In 1851 Mr. FINK sold his farm in NY and came to Kane Co. where he has resided for 32 years. He sold the farm and moved to Kaneville where he now resides. He served one term as supervisor,and also as township trustee. He is a member of the Baptist Church, his wife is of the Congregational faith. The Biographical Record of Kane Co., Illinois 1898 S.J.
