Richard LEHMAN - died June 29, 1975 Son of Myron M. Lehman - mayor of Elgin for 16 years ---------------------------------------------------- RICHARD LEHMAN - Elgin Richard M. LEHMAN, 48, of 1042 Hiawatha Drive, Elgin, died Sunday. Born May 2, 1927, in Elgin, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Myron M. LEHMAN. He had made his home in Elgin all of his life, and was employed by the City of Elgin as a sergeant on the Elgin Police Department for 23 years. Sgt. LEHMAN was a member of the Police Department for 23 years. Sgt. LEHMAN was a member of the Police Benevolent and Protection Association and Illinois Police Association. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Graves Registration, U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 57 of Elgin. Surviving are one son, John of Franklin Park; one daughter, Mary of Elgin; his father, Myron M. LEHMAN, former Mayor of Elgin, of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. J. Alden WARD of Memphis, and Mrs. Warren PEARSON of Sycamore; one brother, Donald C. LEHMAN of encinitas, Calif. He was preceeded in death by his mother. Private funeral services will be held Wednesday in the Schmidt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home after 6 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richard Lehman Memorial Fund at Union National Bank of Elgin, or the Valley LUtheran High School of St. Charles.
